Born in North Carolina and raised primarily in Pennsylvania, I started my involvement with radio and electronics in the late fifties; first as a short wave listener, then earning merit badges as a Boy Scout, and later joining an Explorer group sponsored by Sylvania. I was fortunate to have been able to graduate High School with more electronics than many professionals of the time and have continued that education ever since.
I served two enlistments in the United States Air Force as a Teletype and Crypto technician and have spent the remainder of my life as an Electronic and Mechanical Engineer for BancTec and then CableData; where I also held a seat on the Corporate Steering Committee. I graduated from the Professional Sales Institute located in San Francisco in 1990 and held Technical and Executive Sales positions serving the National and International Cable Television markets. I am currently employed by the Federal Government.
I returned to Amateur Radio in 2008, earning my Extra Class license, and am a member of the North Arkansas Amateur Radio Society and ARRL where I serve as a VE, CI, CE and Emergency Coordinator for Boone County Arkansas.
I am happily married to Lisa, my best friend and confidant, and have two sons; Ian and Emerson.
